As someone who lost a loved one during the pandemic, the grief and love that poured out of this story was both difficult and beautiful to read. And Hale's writing - her connection to her experiences, added a layer of even more emotional depth. It was difficult for all the reasons losing a loved one should be difficult. No one wants to be in the throes of pain that only grief can give. And it was beautiful because...what is grief, but love? It's all that love we have overflowing for our loved ones that must go somewhere. Reading about someone else's experiences helped me feel that none of us that have experienced grief are truly alone.
I recommend this book to all readers, but for those who are new to their grief, or have not addressed their grief may want to tread with care. However, it is definitely a story worth reading.
