Synopsis
In the game of love, the rules are meant to be broken…
When millionaire bad boy Will Thornton tries to buy computer-geek Kate Kelly’s building out from under her, she refuses to sell. Will might be uber rich, but she won’t be bullied. Trouble is, she doesn’t expect Will to look like one of her fantasy heroes, or to make her heart beat way too fast. Fine. She can control herself long enough to wait him out. Hopefully.
There may be millions of dollars on the line, but Will is confident he can make Kate sell. 'Charming' is his middle name, and he plays the game better than anybody. Problem is, the snarky little computer-wiz is nothing like he imagined. She's impossibly cute...and a match for him in every way.
It’s game on. But in a seductive battle of the sexes, only one can come out on top…
Review
I am such a sucker for a billionaire romance. I don’t know why - do not ask me to explain it. I simply love it. This is definitely part of what we get in The Seduction Game by Emma Shortt. What else do we get? The geek girl of my dreams, Kate Kelly (side note: is this a throwback to You’ve Got Mail’s Kathleen Kelly? I really hope so). Since Kate is all things tech and geek, we get mentions of some of my favorite things: Doctor Who, Star Trek, etc. The mention of Ten’s Converse shoes and the Doomsday episode just about had me giggling with geek girl glee, let me tell you.
Back to the story - I loved reading the interactions between Kate and Will. The flirtatious moments instigated by Will to Kate’s hesitancy and inexperienced ways was both endearing and infuriating.

I’m a bit over the virginity trope in romance stories. I don’t hate them exactly, because there is a first time for everything right? What I could appreciate in this story is that Kate is an older virgin - further normalizing the idea that not everyone’s virginity is the sole purpose of their being.

All in all, The Seduction Game was a short and fun read. I wish it was longer, but I enjoyed reading Kate and Will’s unconventional love story. It’s a great romance read for all the geeky romance lovers out there!
