While I haven’t had the pleasure of having read all the books in the Annalisse series, I was able to enjoy the latest installment, Copper Waters by Marlene M. Bell. This is the fourth installment in the series, but no fear reader - you can definitely enjoy Copper Waters without having read the previous books. Bell does a fantastic job in catching up the reader with the necessary background information.
I enjoy a good mystery and some sleuthing - and this is exactly what I got in Copper Waters. Annalisse takes a break from life by accompanying her friend on an adventure in New Zealand. While on her so-called break, she finds herself in the middle of a mystery which the locals definitely do not want her to look into.
I found Bell’s writing to be very enjoyable since it gave much life to the suspenseful moments in the story. Likewise, I found her characters to be written in a way that made me care about them - this is very important to me because I am truly a character-driven reader. Also, I could not leave out the fact that I loved having the background of the story to be New Zealand!
Copper Waters is an adventurous tale with suspenseful moments and a fantastic lead - truly enjoyable for all those adventure-seeking readers out there!
