Frowns and Gowns is the 5th book in The Mischief series by Amanda M. Thrasher. This delightful book was a great read even though I had not read the other stories in the series. I think it's great to know when you can pick up a book to enjoy without having read everything before it!
I have always loved fairy stories, and reading this tale with Lilly, Boris, Jack and everyone really took me way back to my younger days. Along with the fairies, we have other magical beings that really rounded out the story so wonderfully - I mean, there's a spider who cooks. COME ON. Who won't love that??
In between these magical beings and their lovely lives is a beautiful story of friendship. The backdrop of fantasy kept me in this alluring world where friends and magic and purity were abound. What a truly sweet way to learn about friendship and fun. Thrasher did a gorgeous job writing this story that is full of heart for both young and older readers alike.
