I can confidently say that I have not read a book like The Art of Farming by T.D. Motley before. First, because I don't usually read books that center around Texas agriculture, and second, farming and artistry is not usually something that I partner together in my mind. However, in reading The Art of Farming was a pleasant journey in reading about, literally, the art of farming from the perspective of an artist.
The Art of Farming was an intersting story that provided great description regarding Sam's, the artist, perspective on farming since returning to the life. Since the story is told in first person, it is fitting that the description is so detailed. Motley does a wonderful job of conveying emotion behind these descriptions. This is ultimately quite a feat since the book is a short and quick read. I definitely recommend this book to everyone, as I believe any reader would be able to get something out of this snapshot of a story.
