I don't think I've read something like Mars Adrift before and trust me when I say that is a compliment! It's a very gripping story that is completely enthralling with the variety of topics it addresses/brings up. It may be a science fiction/mystery, but it feels personal.
Am I the only one who enjoys a grumpy character? Some of my favorite real life people are grumpy, so it's no surprise that I'd like Crucial Larsen's character. He's actually the reason why I'm looking forward to going back and reading the first books in the series because I can just imagine the character development for him. He's out there trying to save those he loves (and the planets!) and has settled into that life.
Just how Fahrenheit 451 terrified me for it's censorship, Mars Adrift has done the same with global wealth, politics, and climate change (amongst others). The science fiction part of this story is truly following the pattern of showing us what is to come and even what is currently happening.
All in all, the writing is truly engrossing and there is so much happening that it is impossible to not keep turning the page.
So, do yourself a favor and start this series from the beginning or pull a Book Fidelity and work your way back. you won't be disappointed.
