Synopsis
A business trip with the office hottie turns into the road trip from hell.
Adam Cortinas may be gorgeous, but he’s made it clear he can’t stand Olivia—and the feeling is one hundred percent mutual. Too bad, because in order to bring the company’s new power plant online, they’re stuck with each other for the next week.
When their travel plans go horribly awry, Olivia finds herself stranded in the middle of nowhere with Adam, AKA the bane of her existence.
He’s in her space and in her head. All the forced proximity is driving Olivia insane. That’s the only explanation for these FEELINGS she’s suddenly having.
But it doesn’t change anything. They still hate each other.
Right?

I am a HUGE FAN of Susannah Nix's writing. Her Chemistry Lessons series has been an absolute joy to read because they involve smart, fun, nerdy women falling in love - and I am all for it! Her writing showcases women in strong roles and I find it truly refreshing.
Applied Electromagnetism is no exception to the rest of the series. Olivia is a strong woman who knows what she's doing in her field. Adam is her almost-arch nemesis who takes Olivia at face-value, thinking she's a pushover who can't handle herself. I LOVE enemies to lovers romances. This book isn't ENTIRELY that (Olivia has more against Adam than the other way around), but it still has plenty of push and pull from these characters to satisfy that trope for me.
What I found to be most refreshing and insightful which I believe is super unique to this book is that both Olivia and Adam go through their very personal struggles and ultimately come together to understand each other. This may not sound unique, but I think it is because of how in-depth of a snapshot we get about each of their feelings. I REALLY REALLY wish we could have gotten alternate Adam-POV chapters (I love that in romance books), but the observations we get about Adam from Olivia's perspective was enough to satisfy that for me.
Applied Electromagnetism follows the rest of the series in its focus on a strong woman and her romance life - it is sure to not disappoint!
Susannah Nix is a RITA-nominated romance author who lives in Texas with her husband, two ornery cats, and a flatulent pit bull. When she’s not writing, she enjoys reading, cooking, knitting, watching stupid amounts of television, and getting distracted by Tumblr. She is also a powerlifter who can deadlift as much as Captain America weighs.
