Gilmore Girls was, of course, funny and clever, but it did something so much more for its viewers, who were and remain, mainly women. We were able to see this mother and daughter duo grow up together - making mistakes, being independent, and quirky. It showed everyone, not only women, what it meant to be different and happy.
On a personal note, Gilmore Girls showed a 16 year old me two very important things: it portrayed people who talked like me (quickly with pop culture references), and read like me. It made and continues to make me very happy.
So - if you're as much of a fan of Gilmore Girls as I am, I hope you were fortunate enough to have had a "Luke's" location in your town this morning! Share your photos and memories with me on here, or via my other social media!
